Ashok Balwani has over 45 years of general management, strategy and business development experience in an international and Indian setting covering knowledge-based services, industrial projects and products and consumer product industries. He is a Fellow with Vendeara and Director with Strategic Resources Group advising companies on governance, resilience, risk, strategy, organizational development and business operations. He is an independent director on the Board of Directors of Johnson Controls Hitachi Air Conditioning India Ltd. He is an alumnus of BITS Pilani, FMS University of Delhi, IIM Ahmedabad, IMD Lausanne and INSEAD Fontainebleau.

 

He handled several assignments with increasing responsibility in DNV including overseas postings and territories. He was responsible for achieving market leadership for DNV in the certification and the ship classification businesses in India. He was the Chairman of DNV’s Certification Governing Boards in India and in Australia.

 

Previous experience includes heading an operating division in L&T, President of MAN Industries (India) Ltd, Mafatlal Industries Ltd and Rallis India Ltd.
